Back for good
Garage Dakar. Timeless automobile classics.
Freshly made for the daily adventure. Here to stay.
Since 2010, it has been clear to us: We build, restore, and optimize only cars that we would drive ourselves. Ou r focus ison individually crafted or adapted Land Rover and Porsche modifications, largely within the framework of road legality. Forus, it’s not just about performance and design, but also about the practicality of our vehicle s in everyday life.
Why do we do this?
Quite simply: Because life is too short to drive boring cars. We believe that a car is more than just a means of transportation – it is an expression of our personality and our passion for driving.
land rover
Good to know that with a Land Rover, theoretically you could cross a desert on the way to the supermarket. In 2010, we built our first model and have since specialized in all series up to 2016, particularly models with V8 engines.
Porsche
We call it driving in a species-appropriate way. Apart from the classic 911, we have a special fondness for the underrated Transaxle models 924/944/928. With love and affection, we bring these timeless classics into the present, always aware that a properly purring engine never goes out of style.
When you build cars at the ass end of the world…
At least from a global perspective, it’s a bit remote here in the southeastern corner of Styria. And yet, apparently, the right people have come together right here to do the right thing.
A great excuse not to get a real job.
In 2010, Thomas Boder and Helge Leinich launched the Garage Dakar project. Initially out of sheer necessity to have cars for racing purposes themselves. The success, good times, and acquired knowledge laid the foundation to also provide transportation services for customers from then on. With the expertise of masters in their field, Gerald and Damir, a small team here builds some pretty cool cars.
